My name is Alexander Smith. I am a Canadian guitarist, bassist, producer, and music copyist. I hold a Bachelor of Music Honours in Electric Bass Performance from Carleton University. Besides music, I enjoy playing (mostly losing at) chess and watching hockey.

Audio Production

I have engineered and produced the Carleton Jazz Fusion Ensemble. My current projects include producing an artist’s debut pop-punk EP and working on my jazz fusion project’s debut single, which I am engineering and producing. I also have a couple other projects working on original music that I hope to release in the somewhat near future. I am also mixing singles for a few Carleton graduates as well as a single for a Calgary-based artist.

Sheet Music

Creating sheet music is a fascinating art form that I always enjoy working on. In 2021, I had the opportunity to edit and engrave sheet music for a piece that was commissioned for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. I have also edited and engraved a thirteen movement piano suite for an Ottawa-based pianist. Currently, I am working on editing and engraving a three movement piece for flute and piano, as well as editing an orchestral piece for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
